Commands

How the rules behind these commands work (levels, points, scores) is in How MineDnD works.

<players> accepts a player name or a selector (@a, @p, @s, …), so an operator can target the whole party at once. Commands marked Operator need operator permission (level 2, e.g. cheats enabled in singleplayer or /op on a server).

Viewing

Command Who Effect
/dnd stats Everyone Shows your level, unspent points, adventure XP and ability scores
/dnd stats <player> Operator Shows another player's level, points and ability scores
/dnd level Everyone Shows your level, unspent points and the XP towards the next level

Levels

By default the operator (the DM) gives levels and XP with these commands. A world can also turn on adventure XP, so players level up by playing; these commands work either way.

Command Who Effect
/dnd level add <players> [amount] Operator Levels players up (by 1 if no amount). Each level grants 3 ability points
/dnd level set <players> <level> Operator Sets an exact level (1–20). Going up grants 3 points per level; going down removes 3 unspent points per level
/dnd xp add <players> <amount> Operator Gives adventure XP; enough for a level-up levels up (several times if needed)
/dnd xp set <players> <amount> Operator Sets the XP towards the next level (levels up right away if it's enough)

Ability scores and points

Command Who Effect
/dnd stats set <players> <str\|dex\|con\|int\|wis\|cha> <value> Operator Sets one ability score (1–30)
/dnd points add <players> <amount> Operator Gives bonus ability points without changing the level
/dnd points set <players> <amount> Operator Sets unspent ability points exactly

Titles

Titles unlock with achievements (the MineDnD tab of the advancements screen) and show above the player's name. The character sheet (K) has a button to wear one.

Command Who Effect
/dnd title Everyone Lists your unlocked titles and the one you wear
/dnd title wear <title> Everyone Wears one of your unlocked titles (tab-completes the ids)
/dnd title remove Everyone Wears no title
/dnd title wear <title> <players> / /dnd title remove <players> Operator The same for other players (the title must be unlocked: grant its advancement with /advancement grant)

Resets

Command Who Effect
/dnd reset stats <players> Operator All abilities back to 10, and the points earned from levels are refunded so the player can re-spend them (respec). Bonus points from /dnd points are not refunded
/dnd reset level <players> Operator Level back to 1 with no unspent points. Ability scores are kept
/dnd reset all <players> Operator Full wipe: level 1, no points, all abilities 10

MineDnD items

MineDnD items are normal items for every player: crafted with their recipes, found in the MineDnD creative tab, or given with these commands. They are defined in datapacks; see Datapacks.

Command Who Effect
/dnd give <players> <item> [count] Operator Gives a MineDnD item (tab-completes their ids)
/dnd info Operator What this world uses: the enabled data packs from the lowest to the highest priority, with how many MineDnD items, enchantments, requirement rules and recipes each adds (and how many of its files a higher pack replaces; hover a pack for its description), the totals in use, whether adventure XP is on and how many world settings differ from the defaults
/dnd info settings Operator Each world setting that differs from its default: its value, the default and the data pack that set it
/dnd catalog list Operator Lists every loaded MineDnD item with its category
/dnd catalog sync Operator Resends the item list to all players (normally automatic)
/dnd catalog chests Operator Places double chests in front of you holding every MineDnD item and an enchanted book for each level of each custom enchantment (what the MineDnD creative tab shows)
/reload Operator (vanilla) Reloads datapacks: items and recipes update live. New/changed enchantments need a server restart

In creative mode, the MineDnD tab has every MineDnD item and an enchanted book for each level of each custom enchantment.

Example world: on the Create World screen, the MineDnD example world button (Game tab, under Commands) creates a Survival world on Hard with commands allowed, and puts those chests in front of you when you first join.
